We have started to analyse sentences. Have your child write some sentences and analyse the words. Have your child bring in their sentences for me to look at them. We are also continuing to work on Descriptive writing.

Your child can use these cue cards to write their presentation in point form to help him/her to present in front of the class. Please have your child practice his/her presentation in front of you. Have your child practice to glance of his/her cue cards and look at his/her audience.

Yoga class!

Bonsoir,

Today, was our first class of Yoga! What a great atmosphere and experience! The student's feedback were such as: 

• I am feeling so relaxed. 
• Can we do some Yoga tomorrow? 
• I feel sleepy. 
• I could go to sleep now. 
• That was great!

I would like to thank Mlle Hagar, student-teacher from the University of Ottawa for organizing the yoga class. The next yoga class will be held on Wednesday, October 19th.

Dear Parents,

This is the goal for the month of October:

Your child is responsible to read 4 short stories, which we have already read as a class. Throughout the month of October, he/she needs to read each of the stories 10X, outloud to you. This way, you will know that your child has read the stories. Please initial in the boxes below each  story after your child has read it.

It is essential that you play a role in helping your child learn a second or third language. As mentioned on curriculum night: The most important thing in French immersion is for parents to show an interest in their child’s learning.

If your child is experiencing difficulty pronouncing or understanding the stories, please have your child advocate their concerns to me so I can address the issue.

Just a suggestion: These could be your bedtime stories for the month of October.

I will be evaluating  your child's reading at the end of the month.

2016 S.M.Y. Thanksgiving Food Drive

Dear S.M.Y. family,
